Top Carpooling and Ridesharing Apps in Qatar Q1 2023

The first quarter of 2023 has shown varied performance for the leading carpooling and ridesharing apps in Qatar. Here, we review the data from Sensor Tower to provide insights into their weekly downloads and active user trends.

Uber - Request a ride experienced a steady decrease in weekly downloads, starting at around 14K in late December and dropping to approximately 7K by the end of March. Despite this, the app's weekly active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around the 90K mark throughout the quarter.

For TaxiF Driver - Be the Captain!, there was a significant increase in weekly downloads from early January, peaking at 4.8K in late February before declining to around 2.8K by the end of March. The weekly active users followed a similar trend, starting at just over 1K in late December, reaching a high of 5K in mid-March, and then settling at around 4K by the end of the quarter.

Careem – rides, food & more saw a mixed performance in weekly downloads, starting at 2.9K in late December, peaking at 3.6K in mid-February, and then dropping sharply to just under 800 by the end of March. The weekly active users showed a decline from around 41K at the start of the quarter to approximately 32K by the end.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver had a modest increase in weekly downloads from late December, starting at 1.6K and peaking at 1.8K in mid-March, before decreasing to about 1.2K by the end of the quarter. The weekly active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 6K and 7K throughout the quarter.

inDrive. Save on city rides showed a relatively stable performance in weekly downloads, with numbers hovering around the 600-700 range. The weekly active users also demonstrated stability, maintaining a range between 8K and 9K for most of the quarter.
